National public speaker Stephen Hill visited East Meadow High School from March 14-15 to speak out against substance use.
Hill spoke with students during several assemblies to discuss substance use prevention, the importance of mental health, and he shared his inspiring story of overcoming substance abuse. In addition to being a young person in recovery, Hill is the founder of Speak Sobriety. He is a bestselling author, recovery coach and an attorney who advocates for people suffering from mental health and substance use disorders.
Hill has presented in front of thousands of people for more than 500 schools and coalitions across the country, sharing his cautionary tale of addiction to recovery and beyond.
East Meadow’s students left his educational program knowledgeable on substance misuse, and many were motivated to make smart choices and positive changes.
