Last month, fifth graders in Mrs. Cosolito’s class at Meadowbrook Elementary School in East Meadow held a narrative writer's celebration.
Students shared their name narratives in this ELA unit, in which they interviewed family members, conducted research and gave their opinion about each name given to them. The unit culminated in a festive celebration, “Name Narrative Café,” as Mrs. Cosolito’s classroom was transformed into a fancy five-star restaurant. Their four-course “book tasting” included an appetizer, salad, an entrée and dessert.
