Fifth graders at Meadowbrook Elementary School in East Meadow are educating their school community about American Heart Month during the month of February.
On Feb. 3, fifth graders encouraged students and faculty members to wear red during National Wear Red Day to raise awareness on the importance of cardiovascular health.
Each day during the month, fifth graders will share tips on ways to keep their hearts healthy as part of the school's morning announcements.
