Holiday music and Christmas cheer filled the gymnasium at Bowling Green Elementary School in East Meadow as members of the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) visited the school on Dec. 20.

Bowling Green held a special holiday-themed assembly to celebrate police officers. Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder emceed the assembly as he welcomed several units of the NCPD to meet and greet the students. Additionally, the police department’s mascot, Leo the Lion, joined students in the holiday festivities.

At the end of the assembly, students shared thank-you cards with the members of the police department to show gratitude for their local officers.
