The Halloween spirit ran high as trick-or-treaters from the East Meadow community took part in the district’s annual Safe Halloween, held on Oct. 25 outside, near the football field at East Meadow High School.

Numerous varsity sports teams, organizations and high school clubs volunteered their time to dress in costume, design their own tables with Halloween themes and hand out candy to young trick-or-treaters. Hundreds of young children walked around the field dressed as superheroes, book and movie characters, and scary creatures.

The clubs’ themes included the tropics, mad scientists, popular sports teams and knights. In addition to collecting tasty treats, children also took part in games and activities at each of the themed tables. An afternoon of fun was had by the young and older students alike.
