5K

On Saturday, November 23rd, the Girls on the Run club hosted their much-anticipated 5K at Eisenhower Park. This inspiring event was the culmination of weeks of training, during which the club not only prepared young girls for long-distance running but also focused on fostering mental and social well-being.

Each practice centered around a vital life skill, such as perseverance or tackling challenges head-on. The 5K served as a joyful celebration of these lessons, with the girls, their coaches, and enthusiastic supporters coming together for the 3.1-mile journey. Along the course, cheers from families and volunteers echoed the program’s themes of confidence, friendship, and resilience.

The event was more than a race—it was a powerful reminder of what young girls can achieve when they believe in themselves and support one another. A heartfelt congratulations to all the runners, whose determination and teamwork made the day truly unforgettable!
