It’s time for the holidays, which means it’s also time for Ugly Sweater/Pajama Day at McVey! On December 20th, our students and staff kicked off the holiday season in style, filling the halls with colorful, quirky, and downright hilarious holiday attire. Cozy pajamas and festive sweaters were on full display, radiating holiday spirit and McVey’s Mighty Kind attitude. This unique day at McVey represents joy, excitement, and togetherness as we celebrate the holidays and the upcoming New Year. The fun didn’t stop there – the celebration featured a surprise appearance from a beloved teacher, who spread cheer by donning festive holiday clothes and serenading everyone with lively tunes.
Earlier in the week, on December 18th, we were treated to a spectacular performance by Woodland musicians. The Woodland Middle School band, orchestra, and chorus (grades 6-8) performed four wonderful pieces, including Deck the Halls, Jingle Bell Rock, and The Dreidel Song. The following day, EMHS carolers brought even more holiday cheer, serenading students as they sang through the halls. These talented performers filled the school with music, laughter, and joy, making it an unforgettable experience for all McVey students.
It was a heartwarming and uplifting week, highlighting the Mighty Kind spirit of our school and district community as we came together to spread holiday cheer. Wishing everyone a healthy and happy start to 2025!
