The PARP Week celebration continued today as students and staff came to school dressed up as a favorite book character! 📚💙💛@emeadowschools





Day 1 of PARP! Drop everything and read with a flashlight, which enhanced our cozy reading experience! 📚🔦





Grade 5 Quest students ventured to the Dolan DNA Learning Center where they analyzed fur samples to ascertain where they came from. 💛💙

After seeing San Jose Taiko Drumming at the Tilles Center, 3rd grade students met with their teaching artist, Oya, to learn about collaboration and communication through music and body language! 🎶🥁@emeadowschools





Meadowbrook's second grade classes visited The Long Island Museum. They learned all about Westward Expansion and traveling on the Oregon Trail. 😊👍🏻👍🏻😊 @emeadowschools





5th Grade students ended their CKLA Poetry Unit by hosting a "Poetry Open Mic!" Students created poems based on diverse poetic forms. Each poet sat on a stool on stage and recited their poetry book. The poets loved the audience's snaps of appreciation! 🫰💙💛 @emeadowschools





As part of the 1st Grade CKLA unit, students learned about what a geyser is. They did an experiment with Diet Coke and Mentos to demonstrate what this would look like up close. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as they chanted from the sidelines. @emeadowschools 💙💛





Kindergarten celebrated the end of our Kings & Queens unit with a Royal Ball! The students were very excited when Cinderella surprised them with a special visit! She taught them to waltz, curtsy, and bow! 👑 @emeadowschools @ms_brandwin @mrsmuellerem @mrsnich0ls @frank_lukasik

It was “Soup-er Bowl” Thursday at Meadowbrook! Students and staff members were encouraged to wear jerseys to school today. The Student Council also collected cans of soup and other non-perishable items to help others in need. 🏈🥫😊

Our first grade students read about Groundhog Day and made an amazing shadow craft! They connected to the character in the story through their writing! "I'm tired of looking for shadows, I want to..." 💛💙

4th graders in Ms. Caroddo & Ms. Rosen’s class finished their Eureka, Student Inventor unit from CKLA. They presented their own inventions, explained how it solved a problem they may face and how it works. They even supported their pitch with a diagram!💡
