
Our 5th-grade computer students in Mrs. Kakol and Ms. Cosenza's class have been exploring the exciting world of AI-generated images using Adobe! They experimented with creating unique logos for Parkway, blending creativity with cutting-edge technology. Amazing work, future designers!




Our second graders went for the gold with Olympic-style games to celebrate the end of their Greek unit in CKLA! After weeks of learning about ancient Greece, students put their knowledge and teamwork to the test with fun and spirited activities.







Today, we celebrated the retirement of our beloved music teacher, Ms. Vermaelen, at the Holiday Concert. 🎶❤️ The chorus performed a special song dedicated to her, honoring her years of passion and dedication to our school. The Parkway Games brought the holiday spirit to a whole new level! Our staff came together for a fun-filled team-building activity, competing in festive challenges. Our fourth graders traveled back in time to celebrate the end of their Middle Ages CKLA unit with a fun and interactive medieval-themed day! Students built their own castles, showcasing creative designs and unique features, and even participated in a spirited jousting activity with pool noodles, bringing the excitement of medieval tournaments to life. What a fantastic way to wrap up weeks of learning about knights, castles, and life in the Middle Ages!

Our first graders are diving into the world of coding thanks to the SMART Start Grant and our partnership with BOCES! They’re exploring foundational coding skills through fun, interactive activities that spark creativity and problem-solving.

From beautiful performances by our talented students to a special surprise—our 5th-grade teachers joined the band to perform on the slide whistle! Our third graders wrapped up their animal classification unit with a creative Thanksgiving Day Parade! 🦃🎈 They designed floats representing different ways to classify animals and proudly paraded through the halls for our second graders to enjoy. What a fun and educational celebration!










Our first graders kicked off Thanksgiving with their very own Balloon Parade! 🎈🦃 Inspired by the iconic Thanksgiving tradition, they created and paraded their colorful balloon floats for our Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Happy Thanksgiving!









Our Parkway students have been training hard in Physical Education for the annual Turkey Trot! Since October, they’ve been learning about endurance, pacing, and what it means to train for an event. Their hard work paid off as they jogged with confidence during the trot. Additionally, students showed their generosity by donating items for our food drive. What a fantastic way to celebrate fitness and kindness!











Our third graders had a fantastic time visiting Safety Town! They learned important lessons about safety and responsibility while exploring this interactive, kid-sized town. A fun and educational field trip for our future community leaders!







Our students had an inspiring assembly with musician Jared Campbell! Through his songs, Jared encouraged everyone to feel AWESOME about themselves, reminding us all of our value and the importance of respecting one another. His message focused on responsibility, respect, and bully prevention—powerful lessons to carry with us every day!







Our first graders had an exciting visit from high school mentors through the High School Heroes program! This annual learning experience connects elementary and high school students, supporting our first graders’ social studies curriculum on communities and citizenship. Thank you to our high school heroes for helping our young learners grow!







Our students helped choose our new school slogan to be proudly displayed on a sign above the building! With ideas from the PMT, students voted, and the winning choice is ‘Pathway to Success.’ We’re excited to embrace this inspiring message together as a school!









Our 4th grade Quest students had an amazing hands-on experience exploring the geology of Long Island’s north shore at Sands Point Preserve! They classified rocks on the beach and even discovered fossils in Onondaga limestone used in the historic Hempstead House. Such an exciting day of discovery!




Our third graders had an incredible time working with a visiting artist from the Learning Through the Arts program! In preparation for their upcoming STOMP field trip, they used everyday classroom objects to create their own music, just like the performers in the show. What a fun way to explore rhythm and creativity!
